Durham, N.C. — No. 8 Duke avoided being swept by No. 2 NC State Sunday afternoon, taking the series finale 11-2.
Griffin Conine’s first-inning grand slam gave the Blue Devils (31-10, 13-6 ACC) the early 4-0 lead and the home team never trailed.
The Wolfpack (31-8, 15-6 ACC) remains the only team in the ACC that has not lost a series this season and has won 10 consecutive league series dating back to last year.

NC State’s Evan Edwards answered the four-run shot with a leadoff double in the second inning, then Brock Deatherage scored Edwards to put the Pack on the board 4-1.
Josh McLain scored Terrell Tatum in the fifth inning, cutting Duke’s initial lead in half to pull within 4-2.
But in the fifth, Max Miller cleared the bases for the Blue Devils with a double then Jack Labosky launched a two-run longball to left field to add six runs for a 10-2 lead.

Kennie Taylor tripled in the last run of the day in the sixth inning.
NC State plays again Tuesday evening as East Carolina makes the trip to Raleigh for a midweek matchup at 6 p.m. Duke also steps out of the ACC with an in-state meeting versus Davidson at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, N.C.
